Three years ago, a wildlife educator noticed something troubling during school visits: children could name dozens of video game characters but struggled to identify common garden birds. That observation sparked an idea.
What if there was a way to make nature identification as engaging as collecting digital creatures? What if kids could earn genuine discoveries instead of virtual badges?
That question led to months of prototyping, testing with families, and refining. The result was our first Wildlife Explorer Kit, which has since grown into a complete range of nature discovery sets used by thousands of families across the UK.
